There you were in the palm of my

hand floating in a pool of caramel

shampoo upside down and dead

What led you here to this serum

scent of lavender I asked

naked before I showered you

Washing my hair seemed lonelier

and I wondered how your superorganism

would survive without you

A resolute scout for the group

one part of the synergistic whole

with this little independent streak
